This Privacy Policy explains how Lebanon Tours Online ("we", "us", "our"),
operated by Mr. Fadi Eid of Badaro Street, Beirut, Lebanon, collects, uses and protects
your personal information when you visit
lebanontoursonline.com or book a tour with us.
1. Who we are
Lebanon Tours Online is a private guided tour operator based in Beirut, Lebanon. For any
question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at
info@lebanontoursonline.com or
+961 3 798 664.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Booking details — name, email address, phone number, nationality, number
of travellers, hotel or pickup location, tour date and any special requirements you tell us
(including dietary needs, accessibility needs or relevant health information).
- Enquiries — anything you send us through our contact form, by email,
WhatsApp, or our social media pages.
- Reviews and feedback you choose to submit.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device type,
operating system, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Usage data — pages viewed, time spent, links clicked, and the site or
search engine that referred you.
- Cookies — see section 6 below.
2.3 Payment information
We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are handled by
Bokún and its payment processors, following their protocols. We receive
only confirmation of payment and the booking reference.
3. How we use your information
- To confirm, organise and deliver the tour you booked.
- To contact you about your booking, including pickup times and changes.
- To answer enquiries you send us.
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
- To improve our website and the tours we offer.
- To send you marketing about our tours — only where you have agreed. You
can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the tour you booked.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation — for tax and accounting records.
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve our website, and to prevent
fraud, balanced against your rights.
5. Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Bokún (a Tripadvisor company) — our booking platform. All bookings
and payments are processed through Bokún according to its own protocols and privacy
policy, and it acts as an independent controller of the booking data you enter.
- Tour guides and drivers — the personnel delivering your tour receive only
the details needed to collect you and run the tour.
- Partner suppliers — where a tour includes a third-party activity (for
example paragliding operators, restaurants or site entry), we pass on only what is necessary
to make the arrangement.
- Hostinger — our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its
database and processes server logs on our behalf.
- Google — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site,
and Google may set cookies and process usage data under its own privacy policy.
- Authorities — where we are required to do so by law.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for the site and booking process to work.
- Analytics cookies — to understand how visitors use the site.
- Functional cookies — to remember your preferences.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may
prevent the booking process from working.
7. International transfers
We are based in Lebanon. Our service providers may store or process your data outside your
country, including in the European Union and the United States. Where required, we rely on
appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep booking and payment records for 10 years, to meet our tax and
accounting obligations under Lebanese law. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for
24 months, after which they are deleted. Marketing contacts are kept until you
unsubscribe. Booking data held inside Bokún is retained according to Bokún's own
retention policy.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Request deletion of your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it.
- Object to or restrict how we process your data.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email
info@lebanontoursonline.com. We will respond
within 30 days.
10. Security
We use HTTPS encryption and restrict access to booking information to personnel who need it.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
11. Children
Our website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Children may join tours when booked by a parent or guardian, who provides their details.
12. Third-party links
Our site links to external sites such as Tripadvisor, Facebook and Instagram. We are not
responsible for their content or privacy practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted on
this page, and the "last updated" date above will change.
