Discover the historical highlights of Lebanon’s Shouf region. Visit the Beiteddine Palace, built by Emir Bashir Shihab II in 1818. Explore the nearby town of Deir El Qamar including the historical center and see its well-preserved medieval palace and other treasures.
Beiteddine Palace: Its grand dimensions encompass three main courtyards, huge vaulted stables, small museums, guest apartments, water fountains, marble portals and marquetry, and luxuriously decorated and domed hammams (bathhouses).
Deir Al-Qamar: The ancient town of Deir Al-Qamar dates back to feudal times. Particularly well-preserved, Deir Al-Qamar is a town with cobblestone streets, walled gardens, and picturesque secluded corner.
Ain Wazein Natural Grotto: consists of branching caves hollowed out in the bowels of the rock by water flowing from the depths of the mountains. It has become an important tourist site due to the number of visitors and has the additional advantage of being located in a beautiful natural environment. The grotto has scientific as well as historical importance as its extension deep underground helps in the study of the local geological formation.
